OEM — Original Equipment Manufacturing

Machine & Equipment Design and Manufacture to Customer Requirements

We develop machines, modules and production lines around your product and process, from requirements and design through manufacture, assembly and production-line integration.

01 / WORKING TOGETHER

Start from where you are.

A new concept, existing drawings or a process stage to develop: we review the requirements and define the scope together.

01

Develop a machine from an idea

Start with the product and required process. We review the concept, throughput and space to develop a suitable arrangement and design.

02

Build to your drawings

We review drawings, materials, tolerances and the manufacturing, assembly and inspection scope before execution.

03

Upgrade a machine or integrate a module

We review existing equipment and interfaces to develop a process stage or add a custom mechanism or module.

02 / ENGINEERED BY KEMI

Different requirements. Purpose-designed solutions.

Three examples of translating product and process requirements into mechanisms and integrated equipment.

PR-01 / KEMI

Custom Ball Wafer Production Line

The requirement
A dedicated line to produce the customer’s intended Ball Wafer product.
KEMI scope
Development of the line and its mechanisms: cream spreading, conveying, nut placement, closing, Servo-driven pressing, cutting and separation.
The outcome
Connected product-forming stages in one workflow to produce the required Ball Wafer product.

PR-05 / KEMI

Almond & Hazelnut Pick-and-Place Robot

The requirement
Pick nuts and place them into product cavities in sync with the conveyor.
KEMI scope
Design and manufacture of a two-axis Cartesian robot, with vacuum pickup, Servo motion, sensors and product-path integration.
The outcome
A handling module configured around the product dimensions and the line’s pickup and placement points.

PR-02 / KEMI

Drum & IBC Filling System

The requirement
Weight-based liquid filling into drums and IBCs, configured for the product and container.
KEMI scope
A semi-automatic system with a movable nozzle, weighing, PLC control and an HMI, with a defined filling sequence and product supply connection.
The outcome
Combined handling, weighing and controls in an application-specific filling system.

03 / FROM BRIEF TO HANDOVER

Clear stages. Shared reviews.

We agree the execution scope, deliverables and acceptance criteria for the project before work begins.

  1. 01

    Define requirements

Product, operating sequence, target throughput, space, utilities and connected equipment.

Output: agreed requirements and project scope.

  2. 02

    Develop the concept & design

Module layout, mechanism and component design, and reviews of operation, maintenance access and safety requirements.

Review point: design and interfaces agreed before manufacture.

  3. 03

    Manufacture, assemble & integrate controls

Component machining, fabrication and assembly, with motion and controls prepared to the approved design and scope.

Output: an assembled machine ready for the agreed tests.

  4. 04

    Test & review acceptance

Trial the operating sequence and product, and review performance against project-specific acceptance criteria.

Review point: FAT when included in the project scope.

  5. 05

    Install, commission & hand over

Site integration and commissioning, with agreed training, documentation and spares.

Output: handover and SAT review when included in the project scope.

04 / ENGINEERING & MANUFACTURING

Capabilities that support the project from design.

Mechanical design

Mechanism development, equipment layouts, CAD models and manufacturing drawings within the project scope.

Machining & fabrication

CNC machining, sheet metal cutting and fabrication of frames and components to the required drawings and materials.

Assembly & motion integration

Assembly of components, mechanisms, conveyors and handling equipment around the operating sequence.

Controls & automation

Integration of sensors, Servo motion, PLC controls and HMI interfaces to suit the application and agreed scope.

Agree what the handover includes.

Drawings, manuals, training, spare-parts lists and FAT/SAT are defined in the technical proposal and contract for each project. We also clarify safety requirements, integration boundaries, responsibilities, design and software file usage rights, and confidentiality requirements.
