Custom Ball Wafer Production Line

A production line developed specifically for Ball Wafer, from concept and mechanical design through process integration to producing the customer’s intended product.

Custom Ball Wafer Production Line
01 / THE REQUIREMENT

The requirement

The customer needed a custom line to make their intended Ball Wafer product. Starting with the product requirements, we designed the module layout and operating mechanisms from the ground up so spreading, transfer, nut placement, closing, pressing and cutting would work together.

02 / THE SOLUTION

The implemented solution

We developed the complete line design around the way the product is formed, then translated it into connected modules and mechanisms. The solution includes a cream spreader, conveyors moving wafer sheets between stages, a robot placing almonds or hazelnuts in the ball cavities, a product-closing mechanism, a Servo-driven press to bring the two sheets together before separation, and a machine cutting and separating the balls from the wafer sheet.

FROM CONCEPT TO PRODUCT

From concept to the intended product

From a design developed from scratch to the intended product: the customer was able to produce their Ball Wafer product using a line that brings its specific processing stages into one coordinated workflow.

Solution scope & configuration

  1. 01

    Cream spreading

A cream spreading machine prepares the wafer sheet for product assembly.

  2. 02

    Product transfer

A set of conveyors connects the modules and transfers product between process stages.

  3. 03

    Almond or hazelnut placement

A handling robot places nuts inside the product’s ball cavities.

  4. 04

    Product closing

A closing mechanism brings the two wafer sheets together before pressing.

  5. 05

    Servo-driven pressing

A Servo-driven press brings the sheets together before cutting and separating the balls.

  6. 06

    Ball cutting & separation

A machine cuts and separates the product balls from the wafer sheet.
